Will there be more products?
Absolutely. We have a whole bunch of products in the acquisition pipeline. We even have some that are in development as we speak. However, in the interest of a timely launch BEFORE hunting season, we had to limit our initial product offering. We hope you understand!
What Shipping Methods Are Available?
We’ll ship everything via USPS. Unfortunately express options aren’t available at this time.
Do You Ship Internationally?
Yup. We’ll ship to Canada. And we’re working to find quality shipping options to other countries as well. We can only offer free shipping to domestic U.S. at this time, but it’s nothing outrageous for international purchases. If you need us to ship somewhere outside of the US or Canada, send a note to firstname.lastname@example.org. We’ll work together to figure it out.
What size should I buy? Check out the size chart. If you are on the border of sizes or bulk up in colder months, we suggest choosing the next larger size.
For measuring, use your hip to hip around your butt for the best fit.
How Long Will It Take To Get My Gear?
We’re receiving soft goods (Mantis, SYS Haulers, other sewn goods) weekly. The day we have saddles in stock, is the day we ship orders. While we get caught up on pre-orders, these will be delivered by date of order. The earlier you ordered, the higher you are in line, and the sooner you’ll get your gear. The one caveat to this policy pertains to how we receive different size saddles from the manufacturer. Depending on how many of each size we receive, we may ship some customers earlier than their order date.
If you need your order by a certain date, i.e. you’re taking a trip, your season starts soon, etc., you can reach out to us and we’ll do the best we can to work with your situation. However, this is handled on a case by case basis. As a general rule, we’re shipping in order of purchase. Hunters that purchased sooner will receive their gear first.
How Are You Making The Mantis Saddle?
We’ve partnered with a US manufacturer to engineer and build the saddle on American Soil. Not only are they an American company, but we sought out an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) credentialed facility to ensure state-of-the-art methods and quality control. Rest assured that each and every Tethrd Saddle is manufactured and inspected right here in the U.S.A.
Is it strong?
You bet! Since we are paving new ground and there really isn’t a specific set of standards for saddle hunting equipment, we based our design features on the recognized standards used by the rock climbing and alpine mountaineering community. We figured if it’s good enough for Mount Everest, it’s good enough for us. We carefully chose materials that are lightweight, abrasion and UV resistant, and more importantly rated for thousands of pounds. We’ve rated the Mantis saddle at 400 lbs. However, the main structure of the Mantis is built to handle 6000 lbs and the 1/4″ Amsteel bridge is rated at 7700 lbs. Furthermore, our aluminum forged, double locking design load bearing belt buckle keeps you locked in. During our initial testing the Mantis broke the testing machine at 3,000 pounds. We’re in the process of partnering with another test facility to find the upper limits of the Mantis.
How Did You Make the Predator Platform?
The Predator Platform is a custom silica sand cast of high tensile A356-T6 aluminum hand poured at a foundry located in Minnesota. We engineered it from the ground up to work hand-in-hand with the Mantis Saddle, however it will also work with any saddle your currently own. The Predator Platform is lightweight, yet incredibly strong. Every Predator Platform is engineered, manufactured, and assembled right here in the U.S.A.
Is it strong?
Of course it is! We went through several iterations and countless hours of FEA testing before we even decided to create prototypes. We have made tweaks along the way to add strength where needed and remove material where it isn’t. The Weight limit for the Predator is 300 lbs. The Predator tested to destruction around 550 lbs. Remember, the Predator is designed to be a positioning aid as opposed to a “mini tree stand”. There could be times when your weight will be mostly supported by the Predator, but those instances should be few and short lived. Most of your weight should always be in the Mantis saddle.
